Editing is the technical job of removing unnecessary footage from scenes filmed and assembling the remaining pieces together to make finished works. Film editors collaborate with directors, sound editors, and cinematographers to ensure that films represent the director’s vision and tells the story in the most engaging and effective way. When film editors finish their work, the viewing experience should be seamless, as if the footage was never edited at all.
