STANLEY KUBRICK
(July 26, 1928 – March 7, 1999)
Stanley Kubrick was an American film director, producer, screenwriter, and photographer. Widely considered one of the greatest filmmakers of all time, his films, almost all of which are adaptations of novels or short stories, cover a wide range of genres and are noted for their realism, dark humour, extensive set designs, and innovative cinematography.
"Stanley comes in prepared like a fighter for a big fight, he knows exactly what he's doing, where he's going and what he wants to accomplish. He knew the challenges and he overcame them."

The Films
[I want to make] "make the world's scariest movie, involving a series of episodes that would play upon the nightmare fears of the audience".
KUBRICK
"Anyone who has ever been privileged to direct a film knows that, although it can be like trying to write War and Peace in a bumper car at an amusement park, when you finally get it right, there are not many joys in life that can equal the feeling."
